Maceo Plex has surprised fans with the unexpected release of his latest album, ’93,’ which was initially scheduled for February but is now available starting Thursday, December 14th. The album, distributed through the Lone Romantic imprint, marks the Cuban-American producer and DJ’s third studio LP. The title pays homage to Maceo Plex’s extensive three-decade involvement in the electronic music community, dating back to his mid-teen years around 1993.
Over the years, Maceo Plex, also known as Eric Estornel, has been associated with various styles, including his well-known Mariel Ito electro alias. ’93’ showcases a diverse blend of bass, techno, breaks, electronica, hip hop, and house, reflecting his versatile musical journey. The album features notable collaborations with Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, Tyler Hill, Desire, Cubicolor, Kirsty Hawkshaw, Mystic Bill, AVNU, Giovanni, Oscar & The Wolf, and Ishi.
Alongside the release of the album, Maceo Plex has unveiled an accompanying album performance film.
