Carl Cox to Headline Opening Party at Space Ibiza’s New Club

Space Ibiza Unveils New Club in Riccione, Italy with Carl Cox Headlining Opening Party

Space Ibiza is set to make a grand entrance into Riccione, Italy, this summer with the inauguration of its new nightclub, featuring a headline performance by the iconic Carl Cox.

Scheduled for Sunday, June 2nd, the day-to-night extravaganza marks the beginning of Space’s global expansion, bringing the essence of the legendary clubbing institution to Italy’s Eastern Riviera.

Touted as a “new generation” club, Space Riccione will inherit the sprawling layout reminiscent of its Ibizan predecessor, comprising four expansive areas — the Arena, Garden, Terrace, and Lounge — along with additional private spaces.

Fabrizio De Meis, COO of Space Riccione, expressed anticipation for the club’s fresh era, stating, “The new era of Space will be a beautiful and unique experience. We’re excited to reveal our vision of a state-of-the-art, club-meets-festival venue.”

Space Ibiza, the brand’s iconic flagship superclub, bid farewell in 2016 after dominating the international nightlife scene for 27 years. Carl Cox, who played a pivotal role in shaping Space’s legacy with his 15-year residency starting in 2001, will return to headline the new venue’s opening party.

Pepe Roselló, the owner of the Space brand, shared his enthusiasm for continuing the legacy, stating, “We are happy to continue 27 years of Space Ibiza history here in Riccione, an iconic place that represents entertainment.”

The “opening fiesta” at Space Riccione in June will feature Cox delivering a hybrid live set. The club-cum-festival venue will host electronic music heavyweights every Saturday throughout the summer, with more acts to be announced in the upcoming months.

Teasing the new venue’s arrival since June, Space Ibiza shared on Instagram: “It’s coming” — accompanied by an Italian phrase translating to “Freedom, transgression, love, diversity, harmony, friendship, empathy, connection, and music.”

Rumors of Space’s resurgence have circulated since its closure, with recent reports in 2021 suggesting Roselló hinted at a new bar, restaurant, and club night in Ibiza’s San Antonio.

Having been named the World’s No. 1 Club six times in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll, Space Ibiza will further its legacy in Riccione, an Italian resort synonymous with entertainment.
