Frankie Knuckles’ 70th Birthday to Be Celebrated with All-Day Event at fabric in January

London’s iconic club fabric is hosting a special daytime event on Saturday, 25th January, to celebrate what would have been the 70th birthday of legendary Chicago house pioneer Frankie Knuckles.

The event, titled For Frankie, will kick off a global series of parties in honour of Knuckles’ legacy, set to take place throughout 2025. The line-up features artists who shared personal and professional connections with Knuckles, including his longtime collaborator Eric Kupper, who will fly in from Chicago to perform. Joining him are New York DJ Tedd Patterson, as well as UK-based DJs CJ Mackintosh and Marcia Carr.

Frederick Dunson, CEO of the Frankie Knuckles Foundation (FKF), shared his excitement for the celebration:

“Honouring our beloved Frankie on his 70th heavenly birthday is a testament to his enduring legacy and the immense impact he had on the world. The outpouring of love and admiration for him continues to amaze us.”

Proceeds from the event will go to the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation supporting causes close to Knuckles’ heart. These include promoting music education in schools, addressing LGBTQ+ homelessness, and advancing research into diabetes and HIV/AIDS.

Tickets for the For Frankie event at fabric are available now.

This celebration follows other tributes to Knuckles’ enduring influence, including the unveiling of a mural in his Chicago hometown in September and the release of a vinyl set of his classic tracks and remixes by Defected earlier this year.
