Carl Cox is kicking off the new year by spotlighting 10 of his all-time favorite remixes, covering nearly three decades of his career.
The UK dance music icon shared the list in a reflective Instagram post leading up to New Year’s Eve 2024, featuring tracks released between 1992 and 2019. Accompanying the selections, Cox offered fans behind-the-scenes anecdotes and insights about each remix.
One standout on the list is the RAW (Carl Cox Mix) from 1993, released on OTT. Reflecting on its impact, Cox said: “I used to either play this as the first track of the night or the last. You really knew where the night was heading depending on where this dropped.”
Among his two 2019 picks is his remix of Treaty by Yothu Yindi and Gavin Campbell. Cox described working on the track as an “absolute pleasure and honor” due to the song’s significance.
Cox’s legacy has been a frequent topic recently, with footage of a 2004 back-to-back DJ set with Kevin Saunderson at Ahoy in Rotterdam resurfacing online. The performance was part of one of Cox’s legendary Carl Cox and Friends events.
In 2024, Carl Cox added to his extensive catalog by remixing HoneyLuv and Roland Clark’s This Is My Life, releasing the single ICE, and sharing an album mix of tracks from his Awesome Soundwave label.
Looking ahead, Cox will debut his brand-new live show, Evolution, as the headline act at Ultra Miami 2025.
